Stay at Waterland, in Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa, offering bed and breakfast as well as self catering cottage lodge accommodation.
Waterland Lodge offers an enchanting and idyllic natural setting on the banks of the Hout Bay river in which to stay and rest, whether visiting for business or leisure.
Family owned and run by Grant and Silvia Viljoen and their two young sons, its expansive grounds ensure each self-catering cottage is secluded yet beautifully blended into its natural landscape of towering oak trees, scampering squirrel and glorious birdlife.
Each cottage offers complete privacy together with modern amenities and a host of additional services to ensure your stay is tailored to your personal comfort.
From its pivotal positioning on the slopes of the Constantiaberg mountains, guests enjoy easy access to surrounding nature trails, local eateries, wine farms, bustling Hout Bay harbour, Camp’s Bay beaches and Cape Town’s central business district and Cape Town’s international airport.
We live in a unique part of Cape Town, which it’s vibrant artistic community affectionately call the Independent Republic of Houtbay. We are situated up the valley from the town and are spoilt for choice in terms of things to do. Horse riding, walking, hiking, running, cycling and mountain biking are all very popular local activities.
Living on the edge of the Table Mountain National Park offers many spectacular trails and routes of different durations and difficulty. We are only a couple of kilometres from many famous attractions such as Kirstenbosch Gardens, Constantia Wine Farm, Llandudno, Sandy Bay, Camps Bay and Clifton beaches, Houtbay Market and Chapmans Peak Drive.
We are spoilt for choice when it comes to food with many owner-managed restaurants nearby as well as the Houtbay Harbour Market. There are a dozen wine farms on the Constantia Wine Route all boasting fabulous menus and spectacular views. If it’s retail therapy you’re after there are many shopping options in the village or at the Constantia Berg mall.
Waterland is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and a braai (traditional South African meat barbecue on open fire) – our speciality!
