Stay at Kruger Cottage in Marloth Park, Mpumalanga, Kruger National Park offering self catering cottage game reserve accommodation. Budget safari.
Serenity awaits! And animal-watching opportunities abound.
Welcome to Kruger Cottage, a charming three bedroom/three bathroom thatched house in Marloth Park, Mpumalanga, one of South Africa’s best-kept secrets. Marloth Park properties are unfenced and contain a diverse range of wildlife that roams freely among the houses. Many guests see more wildlife at closer range at Kruger Cottage than during their drives into nearby Kruger National Park! Be enthralled by the zebra, ostrich, giraffe, warthog, mongoose, impala, monkeys and kudu as well as the abundant bird life as you sit under the covered verandah or in the splash pool. At night, sit around a fire and listen for the roar of the lions, the hooting owls, and the grunting hippo.
Enjoy an exclusive-use, self-catering, three bedroom/three bathroom cottage with vaulted thatch ceilings. The spacious open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge are ideally suited for family reunions or other gatherings where people want to gather and spend time together, including the preparation of delicious meals. The common area leads out onto a large thatched verandah adjacent to a cooling splash pool where guests can relax and watch the game wandering through the gardens. There is a braai (bbq) area for cooking outdoor meals and sitting around the fire in the evenings.
The master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The other two interleading bedrooms each have two single beds and private en-suite bathrooms. One set of beds may be converted into a king-sized bed if the guests prefer (and request in advance). There is a futon in the lounge that provides sleeping space for two additional people. All windows have mosquito netting and are monkey proof. Powerful ceiling fans are fitted throughout.
A double carport provides shade for two vehicles. The house has an alarm and Field Security provide around-the-clock rapid response service.
Marloth Park has its own local village with restaurants, a pub with big screen TV, large swimming pool, filling station, laundry facilities(self-serve or full-service), liquor stores, butcher, home-baked goods, and two mini supermarkets for essential items.
Kruger Cottage is owner-managed with pride by the mother-daughter team of Joan and Lorelle
Kruger Cottage is approximately one hour’s drive from Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) and a five-hour drive from Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport).
Coming from the west, take the N4 highway going east. You will pass Nelspruit/Mbombela, Malelane, then Hectorspruit. After Hectorspruit, continue about 4km past the turn-off to Marloth Park (the old dirt road), and turn left on the road to Tenbosch. Keep going until you enter Gate 2 into Marloth Park. You will now be travelling along Olifant Street, which is the only tar road in Marloth Park. Turn right onto Volstruis, then first left onto Hornbill and first right onto Jackal Street. 797 Jackal – KRUGER COTTAGE – is clearly marked.
If you are coming from KwaZulu-Natal, you can either go through Swaziland, or a longer route through Pongola, Piet Retief and Barberton. If you go through Swaziland, remember to add on at least forty minutes for the two border crossings, and pack passports for everyone.
