Grahamstown, Eastern Cape is situated as an ideal stopover between the Garden Route, or Cape Town or en route to Kwazulu-Natal. The city is home to the Camera Obscura, the Albany Museum Collection, the National Arts Festival, Rhodes University, the Coelacanth as well as the renowned boarding schools, Kingswood College, St Andrews and Diocesan School for Girls. The beaches of Kenton-on-Sea, Kasouga and Port Alfred are nearby and world class Big Five Reserves, Addo Elephant Park and Port Elizabeth are just over one hour away.

Artificers Square, the old artisan quarter with many restored original houses which reflect a number of 1820 Settler architectural styles. The Botanical Gardens, 1820 Settlers National Monument, Fort Selwyn, Gunfire Hill, used as a lookout point for the garrison in early Grahamstown years. Albany History Museum, Selmar Schonland Herbarium, a pressed plant library.
National English Literary Museum & Bookshop, Observatory Museum. The Observatory is a unique multi-storeyed 19th century Victorian shop and home which is now a museum. Visit the Egazini Memorial one of the first township based heritage sites in South Africa. The Memorial marks the event of the Battle of Grahamstown which took place in 1819.

From Port Elizabeth on the N2
- When you get to first entrance to Grahamstown carry on straight approximately 1km to the Route 67 Port Alfred Road bypass
- Filter left off the N2 and turn right into the R67 Port Alfred Route (left goes towards George Street)
- We are situated 2.2km’s along the road on the right hand side – you will see a suburb sign marking ‘STONES HILL’ and a 60km speed limit sign
- 100 metres along on the right hand side – a green and white reflective sign post with A Stone’s Throw and aloe emblem marks the spot.
