The surrounding natural beauty, particularly the sandstone formations on the road from Fouriesburg to Clarens and the Golden Gate National Park is said to be the most spectacular in South Africa.

Sandstone Chameleon Country House, was built in 1902 and has since been restored into a luxurious and comfortable guest house with thick sandstone walls and Oregon Pine floors. Generous home-style breakfasts are served in the dining room or on the sunny verandah. A huge log fire in the lounge welcomes guests from the winter cold and occasional snow.

We have 6 charmingly decorated en-suite rooms, all with bath and shower, under-floor heating, electronic safe, fridge, mini bar, satellite TV, tea, coffee and our excellent home made rusks to be enjoyed on your private patio. We offer a laundry service, secure undercover parking, Internet access and convenient private entrance to each room.
