5 minutes from the Gariep Dam.
Rose Cottage Gariep Dam is situated half way between
Johannesburg and Cape Town and is only 5 minutes from
the N1 highway. Gariep Dam is just 44 kilometers
from Colesberg and is South Africa's largest dam, in
the heart of the country.

Rose Cottage is acknowledged as the premier self catering
establishment in the area with some guests giving the
Cottage a 4 Star rating and other guests claiming it’s
the best value for money guesthouse in South Africa.
All units have TV’s with a DSTV decoder, only
the 4 SABC channels are active.
There is a strict “Non Smoking” rule in
all the units, however, smokers are encouraged to smoke
outside.
Rates are inclusive of electricity, linen and Towels.
Due to the high quality of the White towels provided
in the rooms, these towels are not to be used at the
Swimming Pool area.
The establishment is divided into eight units, of which 3 are situated on one premises. These units are known as HAMMERKOP, a fully equipped guesthouse (sleeps up to 8 guests) and two smaller self contained units that have been fitted out with a kitchenette and have a private bathroom or shower. These are known as ROOIBEKKIE (sleeps 2) and SWALLOW (sleeps 4).
Blue crane (sleeps up to 6 guests) is situated on its own premise and Suikerbekkie (sleeps 6) and Mossie (sleeps 2) are on the same grounds. Fish Eagle (sleeps 6) and Seagull (sleeps 2) are also on the same premises. All units have a colourful brochure which gives you information on where to eat, what to see, supermarkets etc. We will pre-allocate you to one of these suitable units.
HAMMERKOP
This self catering, fully equipped unit has got a private Lapa and braai area and secure undercover parking. Units are also equipped with colour TV’s and Samsung Air conditioners. At Hammerkop, a long Stoep overlooks the pool and garden
featuring 18 beautiful long stem roses and huge trees with lush garden and romantic swing. Enjoy a “Sun-downer” in our garden Lapa while watching the wild birds feed or relax with a novel while listening to the silence & breathing the crisp Karoo Air. Simonz beds with crisp white linen
SWALLOW
This self catering, fully equipped unit can accommodate 4 guests. It consists of 2 separate bedrooms. The main bedroom consists of a double bed and an on-suite bathroom (shower, basin & toilet) and the 2nd bedroom consists of 2 single beds with an open plan kitchen, dining room, Hi-Fi, T.V and 2 sliding doors that leads out to the private braai area, four-seater Lapa and a private bathroom. (shower and toilet only).

ROOIBEKKIE
This self catering, fully equipped “Bachelor Unit” which can accommodate 2 guests. It consists of 2 single beds that form a double bed with an open plan fully equipped kitchenette. T.V and large on-suite bathroom with a “sea mural” on the wall. The bathroom consists of a bath, toilet and basin. Rooibekkie has got its own private braai area and a quaint two-seater, romantic “Lapa”.

BLUE CRANE
This large self catering, fully equipped family styled house consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a family-styled lounge and a huge entertainment-styled area with indoor braai and adjoining kitchen.

MOSSIE
This self catering flat-let can accommodate 2 Adults. Mossie is a “very small “ but quaint bachelor unit, furnished with a small mini-oven, fridge, kettle and toaster and are perfect for the travelling guest. and only suitable for a single night stay-over.

This large self catering, fully equipped family styled house has 3-bedrooms and sleeps six people, it features an arid “Karoo” theme.
