| Plett’s scenic beauty is best experienced at Milkwood Manor. It has no neighbours but nature. Wake up in the morning to the sound of breaking surf and seagull’s cry, and the spectacular panoramic views offered by the Manor’s promontory jutting out into the sea.
Observe the blue ocean's white-crested surf tumbling onto a golden beach; a fascinating ever-changing tidal estuary, with waves flowing directly past, one moment roaring and aggressively engulfing, next in calm and peaceful retreat; sea birds calling, dipping and diving in a vast lagoon that stretches from the Manor to forested hills hugging the majestic Tsitsikamma Mountains in the distance.
Wander along the lagoon's sandy edge and take a dip in the natural flowing water in one of the coves adjacent to the Manor. Boat across to the opposite shore for an exhilarating stroll along the pristine beach between ocean and
lagoon. Be alone with sea, sand and sky, far from traffic, crowds and noise. Admire the multitude of sea birds, and with a little luck find the sought-after wondrous pansy shell.
Later, relax at the in-house Lemon Grass Seaside Restaurant and relish its international cuisine. From its ocean lapped terrace, there have been sightings of frolicking dolphins and, in season, breaching whales. Incredibly, this heavenly retreat is not as remote from civilization as one might expect, but a short walk from the town's centre with its charming shops and continental restaurants.
Milkwood Manor is indeed unique and an amazing place to enjoy a holiday that will long be remembered! |
