Tourist attractions in the area
Visit the Sudwala Caves - one of the major tourist attractions in the Crocodile River Valley. The road between Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrim's Rest is particularly scenic and overlooks the Blyde River. Pilgrim's Rest is rich in history with an array of fascinating old style shops to explore. Visit the famous Kruger National Park. Near the entrance bridge of Sabie are the Bridal, Lone Creek and Horseshoe Falls.
Lowveld National Botanic Gardens is one of the finest and most interesting botanic gardens in South Africa, set in beautiful surroundings on the Crocodile River near Nelpruit. The gardens
feature a large waterfall, 180m steel hanging bridge and a number of unique botanical collections from a Cycad garden to a tropical forest containing a comprehensive variety of fig trees.
The dynamic provincial capital of Mpumalanga is also the largest town in the Lowveld. As such, it is well serviced with shops, restaurants and other facilities. It is attractively positioned in the valley of the Crocodile River and has a park like setting with many flowering trees. Oranges, sub-tropical fruit, sugar cane and nuts are grown extensively in the area.The weather is very pleasant all year round.
