| Not far from the Sani Pass, nestling in a secluded valley under the towering peaks of the Southern Drakensberg, at the end of a chain of five clear lakes, lies the jewel of Lake Glencairn.
Guests are accommodated in two units:
The Rondawel sleeps six people. There is a private bedroom with a double bed and four additional beds in a large open-plan section, which incorporates the lounge/dining area. There is a fireplace and DSTV. The bathroom has a shower, but no bath. The kitchenette is fully equipped and has a stove, microwave oven, fridge, toaster, kettle etc. There is a very large verandah overlooking the Pholela Riverlands. There are braai (BBQ) facilities and wood is provided. The unit is serviced daily and laundry can be done by arrangement.
The Trout House also sleeps six people. There are two private bedrooms each with a double bed and a large open-plan lounge/dining area with two beds in it. There is a fireplace and television. The kitchenette is fully equipped. There are braai (BBQ) facilities. Wood is provided and the unit is serviced daily. For a larger group, there is an annex close by that sleeps an additional six people.
Both units are extremely private and very quiet. The Trout House has a small dam in front of it that is stocked with large-mouth bass. It is about 200 metres from the main dam and 100 metres from the river.
The main dam covers 40 hectares (100 acres) and boats and a canoe are available for guests to use. Fly rods can be hired if necessary. Tubes are provided free of charge for guests who wish to tube down the river – 3,5kms of which flows through the farm.
Camping facilities are available as well. Electricity is supplied, and the ablution block consists of a toilet and bathroom with shower. There is hot water. |
