Lajuma Mountain Retreat offers you an exclusive encounter with nature. Situated on the high slopes of the Soutpansberg it comes with the complete package: impressive rock cliffs, indigenous forests with ferns and mosses, crystal clear streams and waterfalls and above all the amazing biodiversity of its animals, flowers and plants.
Accommodation
You can stay in the Waterfall lodge which is situated in a pristine mountain setting with its own waterfall. Sleeps 6 and is fully equipped for self catering. Due to all the steps and slippery rock pools it is regrettably unsuitable for guests with certain physical disadvantages as well as toddlers.
A second option is the Forest Chalet nestling within a forest with a beautiful garden with butterflies, orchids, ferns and fountains... Sleeps 2 and equipped for self catering
The Wilderness camp sits high on a cliff providing a stunning view of mountains and valleys. Sleeping 25 it is suitable for students, corporate groups, workshops, teambuilding, family gatherings or gardening enthusiasts who would like to wander through Lajuma’s wild and wonderful garden...
Activities
Apart from its tourist activities, Lajuma has a research centre offering students the opportunity to study leopard, primates and a variety of other types of biological research. We also run a day care centre as a community outreach programme.
Where we are
Lajuma is approximately 400-500 km’s from Gauteng, about 130km’s from Polokwane and 46 km’s from Louis Trichardt. All tar road except for the last 7km’s 4x4 road up mountain. We fetch you from down mountain if you do not have a suitable vehicle... |
