COTTAGES is a truly unique experience where guests are treated
as dear friends.
Kuilfontein is a luxury guest farm offering dinner,
bed and breakfast in eight guest rooms in a beautiful
converted stable block. Furnished with exceptional comfort
and taste with crisp white linen, feather pillows, mohair
blankets and family heirlooms all rooms have their own
en-suite showers.
Country gourmet food produced by the resident chef using
farm fresh organic produce is served in an intimate dining
room on gleaming yellowwood tables. The speciality is
succulent Karoo lamb and venison but vegetarians are
catered for with appetizing dishes of couscous stuffed
peppers and crisp vegetarian pastas. Health breakfasts
of fresh scones, muffins, homemade preserves and fresh
farm eggs.
Leigh and Penny Southey’s family have owned Kuilfontein
since 1875 and five generations have farmed and lived
there ever since. There is a wonderful pub filled with
memorabilia and good conversation and after dinner drinks
and coffee are taken in a charming gazebo or under the
stars.
Walk in the wide open spaces with excellent birding
and plains game viewing and Boer War sites in situ, then
cool down with a refreshing dip in the springwater pool.
Relax with a game of boule or while away an evening star
gazing.
