| Franverleigh
Lodge is set on 40ha of indigenous forest,
with trails through the forest to the Karatara River.
It is a bird watchers’ heaven and there is a dam
stocked with bass (catch and release) about 200m from
the chalets, and a canoe for your entertainment at your
own risk.
There is a large swimming pool and plenty of space
for children to play. For the more energetic there are
hiking and biking trails on some of the well-known paths
along the Garden Route.
Nearby Knysna has a full range of activities to offer.
Sedgefield’s beaches are a short drive away, and
there are many other beautiful beaches nearby. All roads
to the beaches and nearby towns are tarred (except for
the 1Km approach to Franverleigh).
Franverleigh is a low-density resort with two identical
log cabins, Chalet Hoopoe and Chalet Loerie. We easily
qualified for 3 star rating from the Tourism Grading
Council of South Africa.
The chalets
are stylishly appointed for your self-catering holiday.
Each chalet has 2 bedrooms, both ensuite. Further guests
are accommodated on a sleeper couch. One of the bedrooms
has a queen size double bed and the other has two single
beds. All linen is provided except towels for swimming.
The open plan kitchen, dining and living
areas lead to a partly covered deck with spectacular
views over the Franverleigh forest to the Outeniqua
Mountains.
The kitchen is fully equipped with
stove, microwave and fridge/freezer and all cooking
utensils. There is crockery and cutlery for 6 people.
Outside there is a braai.
The TV has a Multichoice decoder but
please note that guests need to bring their own smart
card to access DSTV.
