House Guest House is situated in Milnerton, at the Gateway
to the West Coast. For visitors from abroad its situation
is ideal, as it is close to all the major routes in and around
Cape Town and the Peninsula, as well as being centrally situated
to access all the major areas of interest like the V & A
Waterfront, Cape Town City Centre, Table Mountain, Cape Point,
the Winelands (Durbanville, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek
as well as the lesser known wine areas of Elgin, Bot River
and Hermanus), the West Coast, Namaqualand and the Karoo.
For the local business man, it is close to the airport, city
centre, and the light-industrial areas of Montague Gardens,
Paarden Eiland, Killarney Gardens, Maitland, N’dabeni
and Epping.
Cotswold House, which opened in 1990 as a guest house, is
a colonial Cape Dutch style home and built in the late 1940’s.
It was used by the second-to-last Governor-General of South
Africa, Major Gideon Brand Van Zyl as his retirement home.
It has lovely views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head,
Signal Hill, Table Bay, Milnerton Golf Course (a true links
golf course) and the lagoon. The endless white Milnerton
beach is an easy stroll away, where you can enjoy watching
the sun set and see the lights of Cape Town, admire the skill
of the kite surfers, or go for a walk or jog.
A gracious home, Cotswold House provides you with a home-from-home
feel. You will be warmly welcomed as a guest, and depart
feeling like a friend. Here you can enjoy a delicious breakfast,
relax around the pool while deepening your tan, read a book
from the library under a tree in the garden, enjoy a glass
of wine in the Governor’s Bar, relax in the lounge
in front of a roaring cosy fire or plan your trip with the
assistance of your well informed host.
The 6 bedrooms are well appointed, with extra-length King
beds (with a twin-bed option) in every room, but one, which
has a standard length Queen size bed. Every room has an en-suite
bathroom, but for one, which has its own private bathroom.
The two luxury rooms have their own living room area. Each
room has its own television, digital safe, fridge and tea & coffee
making facilities.
While
you enjoy your breakfast, you can look at the temptingly
sparkling pool and consider a swim during your stay
here at Cotswold House. The breakfast room leads
directly out into the swimming pool area.
At Cotswold House we serve a full breakfast. Muesli,
cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, freshly baked
rolls and croissants, fruity jams, butter, milk,

can help yourself. Also on offer is a cooked breakfast.
